Shareholder

Maurine P. Travis, a Shareholder in Klinedinst's San Diego office, has a broad range of experience in general commercial litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on environmental, real estate and construction law. She handles all aspects of litigation, from overall strategic planning and conducting depositions, to arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

Ms. Travis counsels many clients regarding insurance coverage issues, pre-litigation resolutions and risk management. She handles a variety of Employment/Labor matters, particularly those involving immigration compliance. Ms. Travis has been actively involved in matters concerning California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), hazardous waste cleanup, ground water contamination, soils subsidence, construction defects, and other land-use matters.  She also litigates creditor's rights in bankruptcy court in the Southern District and Central District of California.

A native Texan, Ms. Travis received her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University's college of Architecture, Art and Planning, and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from California Western School of Law. Prior to joining Klinedinst, she interned with the Department of Justice in their Environmental & Natural Resources Division. She also worked with the Environmental Health Coalition, a grassroots environmental justice organization. She has been licensed to practice law since 1997, and was named a Shareholder of Klinedinst in 2006.
