Klinedinst's construction practice includes delay of construction claims and other contract disputes, mechanics' lien and other failure to pay issues, and construction defect claims. In addition to defending construction defect claims, many cases involve the defense of substantial mold claims and often require expert knowledge and experience in both construction defect litigation and environmental law. Our attorneys have extensive experience in both practice areas, allowing them to defend mold claims in a variety of unique circumstances throughout California. In addition to standard residential single family and condominium construction, this specialized team has represented the owners, developers and general contractors of skilled nursing facilities, hotels, apartment complexes, high-rise condominium projects, retirement communities, high-rise commercial office buildings, and government buildings. In addition, Klinedinst PC represents a variety of subcontractors and product manufacturers in these cases. Klinedinst was one of the first law firms to litigate wrap insurance claims involving high-rise residential construction projects. Additionally, our attorneys have experience involving entitlement, regulatory compliance, contract formation, development and construction process, including land use and subdivision approvals, development agreements, environmental impact assessments, hazardous waste regulation and disposal, endangered species and wetlands compliance. Our attorneys have published articles, sponsored and have attended numerous construction seminars. Kurt U. Campbell, head of the firm's Construction Defect Department, is a member of the Building Industry Association and serves on the Construction Dispute Resolution Committee and other subcommittees involving mold litigation, insurance issues, and legislative reform. Klinedinst PC is also an active participant in the Associated General Contractors of America. These positions enable our firm to be intimately aware of issues that affect the construction industry. Our attorneys view matters from the client's perspective, applying a pragmatic approach to litigation and handling cases in a results-oriented fashion. We evaluate every matter shortly after receiving the assignment in order to determine how it can be resolved in the most cost-effective manner. It is especially important to go through this analysis before we incur substantial litigation costs or the parties become too entrenched in their respective positions. We understand that addressing our clients' needs early in the process increases long-term success for our clients and the firm.
