FEBRUARY 2007

LEGISLATIVE / REGULATORY UPDATE

Proposed Sexual Harassment Training Regulations Will Undergo Additional Changes

In December, the Fair Employment & Housing Commission submitted proposed sexual harassment training regulations to the Office of Administrative Law. It was anticipated that the regulations would be approved and become effective in mid-February. However, on January 30, 2007, the Office of Administrative Law informed the FEHC that it wanted changes to several of the definitions in the regulations. The FEHC will consider changes to the regulations at a telephonic meeting on February 27, at 1:30 p.m. The public is welcome to participate. After changes are proposed, there will be a 15-day public comment period. The FEHC will then consider any further changes at its March 27 meeting. After that, it will resubmit proposed regulations to the Office of Administrative Law. Klinedinst’s Employment Law Update will keep you posted on this issue.
