San Diego Shareholder Heather L. Rosing Announces Candidacy for Treasurer of The State Bar of California

SAN DIEGO, CA - San Diego attorney Heather L. Rosing has officially announced her candidacy for Treasurer of the State Bar of California.

Rosing, a certified specialist in Legal Malpractice Law who chairs Klinedinst's Professional Liability department, was elected to the Bar's governing Board of Trustees in 2011. For several years, she has served as the firm's Chief Financial Officer, and was recognized last year as CFO of the Year in the San Diego business community.

"This is a very natural progression for Heather's service to the legal profession," noted John D. Klinedinst, CEO of Klinedinst PC. "The sound fiscal practices that she has instituted at Klinedinst, combined with the recognition that she has received as a financial steward, not just in the legal community but in broader business circles, make her the ideal candidate for Treasurer."

In 2008, Rosing served as President of the San Diego County Bar Association, overseeing the growth and management of the 10,000 member organization. She recently was awarded the Service to the Bar award by the SDCBA for her work in a variety of capacities, including the Private Conflict Counsel Transition Committee.

If elected as Treasurer, Rosing would serve as one of the Officers of the Bar, as defined by The State Bar Act. In addition to financial oversight, she would be responsible for certifying annual financial statements, as well as reporting the Bar's finances to to its base of over 237,000 members.

Elected by other Board members, the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer will be announced at the Bar's annual general meeting in Monterey, California on October 11-14, 2012.
