November 27, 2008 Klinedinst Welcomes Newest Associates to San Diego and Los Angeles Offices SAN DIEGO - The Shareholders of Klinedinst PC are pleased to introduce Klinedinst's newest associates, who have joined the firm after successfully completing the State Bar of California's General Bar Examination. The Fall Associate Class of 2008 includes Nicholas D. Brauns and Samuel B. Strohbehn, who have joined Klinedinst's San Diego office. Both Mr. Strohbehn and Mr. Brauns successfully completed the firm's Summer Recruiting Program in 2007, and returned to the firm in 2008 as Fall Law Clerks. In addition, Talia E. Shandling has joined in the firm's downtown Los Angeles location. Ms. Shandling joined the firm as a Fall Law Clerk pending the results of her Bar examination. Brauns is a graduate of Washington & Lee University School of Law.
While in Law School, Mr. Brauns competed in Moot Court and Mock Trial programs, and received the Best Brief Award for the 2007 Davis Moot Court Competition. Mr. Brauns also worked for the Virginia Capital Case Clearinghouse, which offers trial-level legal aid services to defense attorneys representing capital murder defendants in cases throughout Virginia. Samuel B. Strohbehn received his Juris Doctor from the Washington University in St. Louis. While attending law school Samuel received CALI awards for earning the top grades in his Copyrights and Internet Law classes, and served as Presiding Officer of the school's Honor Council. He also worked as Staff Editor, and eventually Associate Editor, for the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Samuel obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California. Talia E. Shandling is the latest addition to Klinedinst's growing Los Angeles legal team. Ms. Shandling originally joined Klinedinst as a Fall Law Clerk in 2008, after receiving her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. While in law school, Ms. Shandling was an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation. There, she served as a liaison between Loyola law students and non-profit organizations in the Los Angeles community. She was also a member of the International and Comparative Law Review where she acted as Research Editor. A member of the Dean's List from 2006-2008, Ms. Shandling also received First Honors in Ethical Lawyering and International Law while at Loyola. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of California Los Angeles in 2004 with a B.A. in Communications, and also received the honor of Phi Beta Kappa in 2004.
