Kendra J. Hall and Matthew C. Smith Win Latest Appellate Case On Behalf of Appellant

SAN DIEGO, CA - Klinedinst attorneys Kendra Hall and Matthew Smith recently convinced the Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division One to overturn the trial court's grant of summary judgment in a breach of contract and fraud action. The trial court had incorrectly excluded parol evidence that was necessary to properly analyze the contractual language that was in dispute. As a result, the matter has been remanded for trial.

An accomplished Appellate advocate, Kendra chairs the Klinedinst Appellate Department. Kendra is active in the State Bar of California and the Appellate Court Committee of the San Diego Bar Association. Kendra also has extensive experience handling and employment and general business litigation.

A San Diego native, Kendra graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University. She also graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was a member of the San Diego Law Review. She has practiced law in California since 1993.

Kendra is a noted author on a variety of topics. She has been published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the ABTL Report. She is also on the Editorial Board for the ABTL Report, and was a Contributing Editor of the California Appellate Practice Handbook, Sixth Edition.

Originally from San Carlos, California, Matthew Smith graduated from the University of Washington before earning his Juris Doctorate from Washington & Lee School of Law in May of 2000. Matt was also the recipient of the Gardner Brothers' Award for Best Oral Advocate, the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence, and won First Place in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition.
